Mr. Julien Mercier has represented taxpayers against federal and provincial tax authorities. His practice experience was mainly acquired within medium sized law firms specialized in tax litigation.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Law (LL.L.) from the University of Ottawa, a Juris Doctor (J.D.) in North American Common Law from the University of Montreal and a Master in Taxation (M.Fisc.) from the University of Sherbrooke. He is a member of the Tax and Financial Planning Association (APFF) and a member of the Canadian Tax Foundation (CTF).
Mr. Mercier represents taxpayers who are being audited or have received an unjustified notice of assessment form tax authorities. He represents individuals as well as corporate entities in defending their positions. He regularly accepts mandates involving income taxes, sales tax (GST/QST) and payroll remittance files.
He is well versed in negociating with tax authorities on behalf of clients. He can get involved at any stage of the process, including tax audits, oppositions and representations against tax recovery departments.
